A year ago…2021 aLOT of ART – 16 amazing artists creating LIVE @LOT323

aLOT of Art is a wonderful interactive program where 4 artists per night at 4 events create large-scale art murals LIVE, during LOT 323. The finished product will become a part of our outdoor gallery for the season.

This is not a competition, it is just LOVE FOR ART and the CREATIVE PROCESS. Come and enjoy the experience this concept as well as the incredible talent.

JUNE 11th

J. Kenneth Leap has a 30 year history in creating public art. He works in the medium of glass as well as paint. Take a picture in front of his mural Music Gives Me Wings at the Lot, view his glass mosaic designs outside of Gather, and watch him create live at Lol 323!

De’von Downes is an experienced muralist who has worked with Philadelphia Mural Arts and has a mural here in Woodbury at the Cultural Collective. In addition to his drawings and paintings, De’von is also an accomplished jewelry designer, creating beautiful works with gem stones.

Olivia Musselman is an up and coming artist and illustrator who attends Tyler School of Art and Architecture. Her work captures the human spirit through figures and portraiture.

Lisa Evanoff is an accomplished graphic designer whose works can been seen adorning commercial businesses throughout the area. She works with non-profits to refine ideas into graphics that represent their values and vision.

JUNE 18TH

Laurie Mitchell: After graduating with a degree in illustration from Moore College of Art, Laurie Mitchell worked as a medical illustrator for several years before launching her own design business.  She also taught k-5 art at an inner city school for 13 years before her recent retirement. These days Laurie is pursuing her interest in watercolor and calligraphy.  Look for prints of her works at our Lot 323 clothesline sale on July 25. 

Joy Lessposh has 2 decades of experience teaching, creating public art and making tattoo art.  Her work has taken her to Florida to reimagine bygone era signage, and closer to home to Fleisher Art Memorial and Cheltenham Arts Center. She has also worked with the Museum of Sex in NY, Fuji Bikes, South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, the Voodoo Fest in Louisiana, and numerous Horror Conventions. She recently relocated to Woodbury and will join Tim Adams in designing and creating tattoo art at his soon to open store, Tattoo Timmy’s, 11 Curtis Ave, Woodbury.

Shanaya Ferguson is a local Philly artist who has experience in many mediums. Her current passions are acrylic paint and digital art.   She is the owner of The Artist Expo, which she describes as a cozy zen art gallery filled with her art and work of fellow artist friends.  In addition to art, the studio also serves as a yoga studio.

Courtney Wittick says she is an artist who lives through her work and would love for you to join her in her adventure.  She’s experienced in the mediums of paint and colored pencil and has also done window art for commercial businesses.   Enjoy the escapism she depicts and the stories she tells through her pieces when at Lot 323! 

JUNE 25TH

Iris Richardson  is an accomplished fine art photographer and painter, who gained her BFA in studio arts from Rowan University.  In 2020, she received her  MFA in studio arts from SACI Florence, Italy.  Her hand painted gourds are an example of how she applies her skills across disciplines and you can check out her beautiful hand painted birdhouse gourds at the Lot 323 clothes line sale on July 25!

Essence Hampton has loved painting since she was a young girl. Her work on wood panels and canvas juxtaposes unlikely natural elements with portraits, creating effects that could perhaps best be described as dreamscapes.

Aaron Weber is an avid photographer who uses photographic images as a starting point for many of his mixed media works.  He is passionate about community art and was one of the organizers of the 2020 Art Outside exhibition.  Aaron hopes to bring more art to Woodbury through his newly formed non-profit, the South Jersey Artist Collective. He currently teaches art in Woodbury Public Schools, as well as runs the Art in the Street summer program. You can follow Aaron on Instagram @aaronteachesart

JULY 16TH

Loren Dann has an interest in literature, social justice and history. Her work has been exhibited extensively in New York, Philadelphia, and New Jersey. Her freelance work makes appearances on material cultural items from album covers to handbags creating a strong and recognizable presence. Loren’s skill as an art educator has allowed her to work with all ages, genders, and races to explore art as a creative and therapeutic outlet for both emotional and physical well-being. Loren also uses her art to encourage diverse communities where all forms of art and expression are encouraged and valued.

Jeff Quattrone is a photographer, digital illustrator and digital collage artist. He combines his art with his heirloom seed activism in his Growing the Food Sovereignty Revolution Propaganda Series, Jeff is also an award winning graphic designer, and tomatoes are his top level in life. Everything falls under them including art.
